My father and mother immigrated from Kenya in the 60’s and 70’s respectively. Their parents moved to Kenya from India during the 40’s and 50’s due to the lack of work available in India. During the Amin turmoil in Uganda, all my family moved to England when the British empire gave independence to Kenya. My family’s story is pretty amazing and it is only as I get older that I realise how fortunate I am that my parents migrated.
