Genavieve’s Story

My Dad’s family immigrated to the UK in 1969 from Malta. His first thoughts of the UK were that it was too rainy and at the time they didn’t serve coca-cola so it was a no from him! He was distraught that my grandma could bring him to such a country, miles apart from the sunny climate he was used to.
My grandad was a tailor and moved here for better work and better living for my dad and his 3 siblings. They originally came to London to stay with family and eventually moved to the quiet up north to Leyland. We still have family in Malta who we see every once in a while. I’m very proud of my Maltese heritage, it’s a very important part of me.
