I was born in northern Nigeria where there was little to no art education or art scene. I was luckily able to come to London 5 years ago to study art. And away from home I’ve begun to tackle colonial history and trauma in my art. Learning things about the Nigeria I didn’t know. Like how my father works in an oil and gas refinery that was a former slave port. Things like this have drastically changed my perspective of home.
