Mira’s Story

My father and mother came from Athens to Shrewsbury in 1975. They expected it to be wet and cold but we had 2 years of drought and my father said that the weather was as good as Greece, There were lots of strikes the first years we came, Shrewsbury was an all white town, people kept asking me and my dad if we were pakis, I remember my dad saying, what is paki?

I prefer living in London,at my sons school there are children from all over the world.
