Aurelia’s Story

I am here to study from the USA. Where I grew up, there was a large Hispanic population that included my family and I was surrounded by my own culture. London is diverse in terms of colour, culture, and countries that are present. But after six months of being here, I am yet to meet another Mexican person. On social media, I have made it a joke, updating about being the “last Mexican in London”. There is not even good Mexican food to comfort me. The student’s union had a Mexican club but there are 0 members and their last Facebook update was 3 years ago. I joined the Latin dance club which is just a bunch of white guys learning how to cuss in Spanish. I tell everyone I meet i that if they meet another Mexican, to text me and send them my way. I have yet to meet a Mexican in London.
