Myrto’s Story

My family and I moved to England from Greece in 2011, a few years before the peak of the Greek economic crisis, in an attempt to avoid a life of dept, depression and chaos. So we started on a clean slate, new country, new language and a new life. I have always considered myself to be one of the lucky ones to have left my country at the time that I did, as what followed, and what still occurs today, left our nation shook. I adore my country and I adore my heritage, however it is often hard to support a country that ultimately made you leave it. I’ll always be hopeful for its future, after all it’s my home.
