The British Library

1914 – 1945

During both the First and Second World Wars many people from across the world served alongside British troops, however they were not always valued or treated well after the wars had ended. This plaque in Liverpool was erected in 2006 to honour the Chinese Merchant Seamen who served in the First and Second World Wars and to acknowledge the treatment of them and their families by the UK government.
